Yankees notes

Aaron Boone has elected to put Edwin Encarnacion back into the lineup at DH, replacing Giancarlo Stanton. ... Encarnacion has looked lost at the plate during the ALCS, hitting just .067 (1-for-15) with eight strikeouts and three walks. ... After his dramatic three-run home run in Game 5, Aaron Hicks was moved up one more spot in the lineup, now batting cleanup behind Gleyber Torres. ... DJ LeMahieu continues to be the engine that drives the Yankees offense. He's hitting .381 in the series, and his leadoff home run in Game 5 helped put the momentum back in the Yankees' favor.

Who is starting for the Yankees?

RHP Chad Green (0-0, 4.91 ERA), who is making his first start of the postseason for the Yankees. Aaron Boone could have elected to use Luis Severino on short rest, but instead, this will be a bullpen game for the Yankees. Green served as an opener for the Yankees 15 times during the regular season, and the Yankees went 11-4 in those games. There's a chance tht the Yankees will follow up Green with J.A. Happ in a relief role.

Who is starting for the Astros?

RHP Brad Peacock (0-0, 0.00 ERA), who started 15 games for the Astros this season before being moved to the bullpen. Peacock appeared out of the Astros bullpen in Game 5, pitching a 1-2-3 bottom of the eigth in the Yankees 4-1 win. The right-hander needed just eight pitches to retire the side, while striking out one batter.

Upcoming schedule

If the Yankees can stay alive, Game 7 of the ALCS would be played in Houston on Sunday at 7:38 p.m. Luis Severino would get the start for the Yankees against Astros ace Gerrit Cole.
