Thor is staying in Flushing.
Noah Syndergaard is staying with the Mets, as the team has pulled him off the trade market ahead of the 4 p.m. deadline on Wednesday, SNY's Andy Martino confirmed.
The righty flamethrower was generating significant interest this week, with the Padres making a strong offer, according to SNY's Andy Martino. The deal did involve major league players, but both sides couldn't find a common ground. The Twins were also a team interested in Syndergaard.
It would have taken a haul for GM Brodie Van Wagenen to let Syndergaard go, and it appears now that the Mets didn't like what they were hearing from those interested teams. Also, having Syndergaard go out Tuesday night to pitch against the White Sox was telling, as the smart move if a trade was imminent would be to skip his spot in the rotation.
After tossing 7.1 innings of dominant baseball against the White Sox last night, Syndergaard told the media following his stellar start that he believed he was staying with the only team he's known in his MLB career.
"I am, yeah," he said when asked if he was confident if he's staying with the Mets.
"Are you confident that you'll be here tomorrow night?"

Van Wagenen still has time to make some more moves, and that includes a fellow starter in Zack Wheeler who remains on the market for now. But by bringing in Marcus Stroman to bolster the rotation, Syndergaard believes just selling off assets would be waving the white flag with the team only five games out of a wild card spot.
"Five games out and two months left to play in the season," Syndergaard said. "I think technically selling would just be giving up. I think we have plenty of opportunities to make a run at this thing."
The clock is still running and teams are surely calling Van Wagenen to see if Wheeler can be shopped. But Syndergaard is here to stay for the rest of the season.
