Jeff McNeil is out of the Mets' lineup on Wednesday night due to a hamstring issue he first felt in the ninth inning of Tuesday's win.

"Felt it last night, got some treatment," McNeil said before the game. "It's tight."

In the ninth inning on Tuesday, McNeil reached on a fielder's choice before taking second base on defensive indifference, where he said he first felt the hamstring bothering him -- "kind of tigthened up on me there and I was feeling it."

On the game-winning infield hit by Amed Rosario, McNeil stood between second and third base, in the throwing lane of Nats shortstop Trea Turner.

McNeil added that being out of the lineup Wednesday was "just kind of the most logical thing," and that expects to be back in the lineup on Thursday.

In place of McNeil in the leadoff spot will be Amed Rosario.

McNeil, who had been in a small slump, broke out of it on Tuesday night when he went 2-for-5 with a double.
