Mets 3B David Wright played his third game in four days with the St. Lucie Mets on Wednesday night. But after four plate appearances, Wright is still searching for his first hit.
Wright went 0-for-3 with a walk, which makes him 0-for-7 in his three games. At third base, he managed to have two putouts in the game as well.
Before his game Monday, Wright said that he wasn't worried about not getting a hit yet. He said the more live at-bats he has under his belt, he'll begin to see the ball better, resulting in more contact.
"I think slowly but surely, you see the ball," Wright said Monday. "The more pitches I can get under my belt, the better. Hopefully the results come, but that shouldn't [be] and isn't my No. 1 concern right now. My No. 1 concern is trying to catch up to the speed of the game, get into a rhythm offensively and defensively."
Mets OF Jay Bruce also played with Wright in his second rehab game. he went 2-for-4 with two singles and a run scored, while playing seven innings at first base.
In his first game, Bruce played right field and went 0-for-2 with a walk. He has been out since June with a strained right hip, though he initially hit the 10-day DL with a butt/back issue and plantar fasciitis in his left foot.
