Amid reports indicating that Courtney Lee is seeking to be traded to a contender, the 32-year-old told ESPN that he does not want to be traded and is happy to remain with the team.
The New York Post reported, citing sources, that Lee is preferring to go to a playoff team or contender if the Knicks opts to trade him.
The Knicks have sought suitors for the 32-year-old in an effort to trade him and free up cap space for the 2019 season, per the New York Post. The 76ers have interest in Lee, who was close to being traded to Philadelphia in 2016 before he nixed the deal.
Lee still has two more years left to the four-year, $50 million contract he signed in 2016.
In his second season with the Knicks, Lee averaged 12 points per game last season -- his best average since 2009-10 with the Nets -- and had a career-high 2.4 assists per game.
