Knicks rookie C Mitchell Robinson won't return to Friday's contest against the Hornets after suffering a sprained left ankle in the second quarter, MSG Network announced.

After climbing the ladder for a rebound, Robinson appeared to step on the foot of Frank Kaminsky on his way down that forced the ankle roll. X-Rays did come back negative, but Robinson was in clear pain as he needed help off the floor.

The 2018 second-rounder is averaging 4.8 points, four rebounds, and 1.9 blocks per game this season. He had to miss three games with a bruised left heel earlier this season, and hopefully this injury won't force him to miss time.

The Knicks play next on Sunday at 5 p.m. against the Pacers on the road.
