Billboards may not impress Kevin Durant, but the Knicks will have a special guest on Friday that will be sure to catch the pending free agent's attention.

R&B artist Ashanti will sing the national anthem before Friday's Knicks vs. Warriors game at Madison Square Garden and also perform at halftime.

So why is this relevant to Durant?

Well, the Warriors All-Star forward is apparently a big fan of Ashanti based on his Twitter history.

At least three tweets between 2009 and 2011 Durant is praising Ashanti and her hit song, "Movies."

"Movies" by Ashanti is the best R&B song ever," he tweeted on Nov. 17, 2009.

Movies-ashanti...on the way to Toyota," he tweeted Dec. 19, 2009.

And on Nov. 22, 2011, he responded to a fan asking him his favorite warm up song: "Movies-ashanti," he replied.

Many expect the Knicks to make a play for Durant in free agency next season and the Warriors forward sounded unimpressed with the billboard of himself in a Knicks jersey.

But Ashanti? That could very well be the key to Durant's heart.

It should certainly fare better than, say, Rihanna.
