Knicks guard RJ Barrett has transitioned from crutches to a walking boot and will be re-evaluated in a week, the Knicks announced on Saturday.
Barrett has missed the last four games with a sprained right ankle, last playing against the Suns on Jan. 16. SNY's Ian Begley suggests that Barrett is likely to be out longer than one more week.
The rookie is averaging 14.1 points on 39.3 percent shooting, 5.2 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 steals this season.
Damyean Dotson has stepped up in Barrett's absence, averaging 16.7 points over the last three games.
Barrett will miss Sunday's crosstown matchup against the Nets, along with contests against Charlotte and Memphis before his re-evaluation next week.
