Carmelo Anthony has agreed to sign with the Houston Rockets, reports Yahoo Sports.
Anthony told the Rockets of his decision upon his return from a trip to South Africa, according to the report.
Melo was traded from the Oklahoma City to Atlanta in a three team deal that involved Philadelphia as well. The plan was always for Atlanta to waive Carmelo while taking on his final year of his contract. Carmelo is set to join Chris Paul and James Harden in Houston as they look to avenge their seven game Western Conference Finals loss to the Warriors.
He is coming off of his worst season of his career in Oklahoma City and looks to bounce back from his astounding 16.8 points per game in the regular season. The Syracuse product dipped from his regular season total and scored 11.8 points per game throughout the postseason.
