A Yankees minor leaguer has tested positive for coronavirus, reports Jeff Passan of ESPN.

The case is the first known positive test of any player in the majors or minors.

According to Passan, the Yankees player who tested positive was only on the minor league side at the team's spring training facility, and was quarantined on Friday after reporting that he had a fever.

Mets front office executive Donovan Mitchell Sr. was tested for coronavirus last week after his son, Donovan, tested positive. Mitchell Sr.'s test came back negative.
