After months of rehabbing, Yankees RHP Dellin Betances finally returned to the mound just to get injured once again. After a scoreless inning against the Blue Jays, it was later revealed that Betances had partially torn his Achilles and would hit the IL to start rehab on that injury.

But now it looks like he might be ready for Spring Training next season.

According to SNY's Andy Martino, Betances "will be fully recovered" from his injury in December, and will resume the offseason like he normally would heading into the new year.

If that is the case, that would be an amazing recovery for an injury that normally takes 4-6 months to come back from. Betances, though, could be ready for a revenge season if all goes well.

The catch, however, is that he is currently unemployed. Betances is officially an unrestricted free agent after completing his final year of arbitration last season at $7.25 million. And with the way the Yankees bullpen plays at right now, GM Brian Cashman could consider letting him go.

Last offseason, the Yankees retained Zack Britton on a new deal, and added anothe power reliever in Adam Ottavino. They worked alongside Aroldis Chapman, who's now signed through the 2022 season and Tommy Kahnle, who saw a revival this season after needing time in the minors to figure out his pitches again.

Add in Chad Green and the hopeful return of Jonathan Holder, and the Yankees still have a stacked bullpen again without Betances. The 6-foot-8 flamethrower is effective when he's healthy, owning four All-Star Game bids from 2014-2017 as one of the league's dominant relievers. But this past season has been rough health-wise, and he has dealt with control issues in the past, though that definitely didn't show against Toronto in that September game.

It will be a tough decision for Cashman to make, but Betances being able to return in December definitely helps his case if he wants to remain a Yankee.
