It was 20 years ago today that one of the most iconic moments in Mets history went down. It wasn't a game-winng home run or a no hitter (thanks though, Johan). No, it was something even better.
At Shea Stadium against the Blue Jays, the Mets were in extra innings looking to secure a win. But when Mike Piazza was called for catcher's interference on a pitch out, the Mets' manager at the time -- Bobby Valentine -- was infuriated.
Valentine approached the home plate umpire and was tossed for the exchange. But what he did afterward would go down in history as one of the funniest, most bizarre managerial moves in the game.
