As the virtual Mets continued their 2020 season in MLB The Show 20, the Milwaukee Brewers came to Citi Field for a three-game weekend series.

And the team whipped out the Friday night black uniforms to get it started.

The black jerseys have become a bit of a hot topic as of late. Worn as an alternate jersey from 1998-2011, the black tops have their detractors (ahem, SNY's Andy Martino) but they also have their supporters, including a number of current Mets.

Take Pete Alonso for example. Alonso has become the leader of the bandwagon, speaking out time and time again in support of the threads.

"The black unis are the dopest! No cap. It would be a mentality and attitude," Alonso tweeted in response to a graphic of him in the black uniform. "The orange and blue accents are like the city lights in the night sky. So many Mets greats wore the black. My only question is: why not?"

He even chimed in on Twitter once again on Friday night.

Dominic Smith, J.D. Davis, and Marcus Stroman have also come out in support of bringing back the black uniforms.
