The Mets had been aggressive in their efforts to trade for Marlins catcher J.T. Realmuto before eventually deeming the price too high and signing Wilson Ramos. The Marlins are still expected to deal Realmuto, and two other NL East teams have checked in. Here's the latest...

Feb. 7, 2:25 PM:

The Phillies and Marlins have reportedly agreed to a deal to land Realmuto, SNY's Andy Martino confirmed. Four players will be headed to Miami including RHP Sixto Sanchez, Jorge Alfaro, LHP Will Stewart, and an international bonus slot.

Sanchez is the big return for Miami in this deal, as he is ranked the No. 27 prospect in baseball, according to MLB.com.

Feb. 7, 11:02 AM:

The Phillies are "gaining momentum" on a potential deal for Realmuto, according to MLB.com's Jon Morosi, while the Marlins have also spoken with the Reds, Padres, Dodgers, Braves and Rays earlier this week. Miami, according to Morosi, wants the Phillies to include pitching prospect Sixto Sanchez in a trade.

Feb. 5, 11:15 AM:

While most of the recent buzz surrounding Realmuto has centered around the Reds, the Phillies recently reached out to the Marlins about trading for the catcher, reports Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. Rosenthal notes that the continued availability of Realmuto led to "renewed communication," but that there is no indication a deal is close.

Jan. 8, 3:25 PM:

The Braves and Marlins reportedly stopped talking about a trade for Realmuto, but according to SiriusXM's Craig Mish, talks have resurfaced. Mish believes that Atlanta is trying to wait out the Marlins.

Though the Mets signed Wilson Ramos, Realmuto being added to the Braves -- the 2018 NL East division winners -- wouldn't be the most ideal situation. The Braves also brought back veteran C Brian McCann this offseason.

Dec. 16, 5:01 PM:

With the Mets signing free agent catcher Wilson Ramos, pending a physical, they are out on a potential trade for Realmuto, notes SNY's Andy Martino

Dec. 15, 6:34 PM:

The Braves are a "slight favorite" to acquire Realmuto, reports Craig Mish of Sirius XM Radio. The Braves are currently ahead of the Mets and Yankees in the race for Realmuto, while the Reds, Rays, and Padres are also in the mix, but further behind.

Dec. 13, 1:50 PM:

The Mets' current talks with the Marlins for only Realmuto revolve around either Brandon Nimmo or Michael Conforto as the centerpiece of a deal -- not Amed Rosario, with the Marlins also interested in Mets prospects Andres Gimenez, Ronny Mauricio, and Mark Vientos, reports Tim Healey of Newsday

In potential three-team talks with Syndergaard involved, the Mets have discussed a deal that would send Syndergaard to San Diego, Realmuto the Mets, and prospects to the Marlins, reports SNY's Andy Martino

Dec. 12, 8:11 PM:

The Mets consider Realmuto their top catching target, but feel the Marlins' current asking price "exorbitant," according to Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic

Dec. 12, 3:14 PM:

The Mets believe Realmuto is still a possibility for them, notes Joel Sherman of the New York Post, who says his "sense" is that the Mets are "perhaps willing to mull" parting with Amed Rosario, Brandon Nimmo, and David Peterson. Sherman, who did not clarify whether he meant one of Rosario or Nimmo plus Peterson (or another iteration), believes Noah Syndergaard is off the table.

Dec. 12, 1:22 PM:

The Reds have "jumped into" the mix for Realmuto, according to Craig Mish of SiriusXM, who notes that a package would be led by top outfield prospect Taylor Trammell. According to Mish, the Braves are also involved.

Dec. 11, 9.55 PM:

The Phillies "don't have enough" to trade for Realmuto, a source told NBC Sports' Jim Salisbury.

Dec. 11, 6:52 PM:

Ken Rosenthal said on MLB Network that he believes the Mets will get Realmuto.

"It sounds to me, trying to sift through this, that the Mets are the team," he said. "They are pushing this the hardest, they want him the most, and they're going to find a way to get him."

While the Mets remain aggressive on Realmuto, the three-team trade talks involving Syndergaard, the Marlins and the Yankees were not progressing as of Tuesday afternoon, according to Morosi.

Dec. 11, 12:03 PM:

The Yankees are willing to trade Miguel Andujar, who could be a potential fit to go to the Marlins for Realmuto, according to multiple reports.
