On the 30th anniversary of the night his iconic sitcom first hit the air, Jerry Seinfeld stopped by the SNY booth.
"It's great to be in the booth, the greatest booth in baseball," Seinfeld said. "It is an honor and a pleasure to be with you guys. You have no idea the guy you bring to us Mets fans every night. We look forward to this broadcast because it's a TV show, it's not just a game. We get to see a whole TV show.
"But now let's get back to that pitch I threw."
Seinfeld did in fact throw a strike right down the heart of the plate during his ceremonial first pitch, dropping down sidearm to deliver a strike, which caught the attention of the guys in the booth.

"I am 65 years old, okay? I challenge another 65-year-old sitcom star to hum that in there right over the plate," Seinfeld said.
To help celebrate the show's 30th anniversary, the Mets honored Seinfeld with his own bobble head as a giveaway to fans.
"It's such an exciting night for me to be here on my bobble head night," Seinfeld said. "So I dressed like the bobble head as much as I could. I tried to look like the bobble head, but that's 90s hair. I don't have that hair anymore."
A lifelong Mets fan, Seinfeld said he's very optimistic about the current team.
"My feeling is, I have to say, very good," he said. "I know there's been some tough patches, but I like the pieces that we have. I like the new guys, I like the energy, I like [Pete Alonso], I like the way he plays, I like the way he approaches the game."
