Sandy Alderson is cancer-free.

The former Mets GM declared he has been cancer-free for four months and counting while speaking at the BBWAA awards dinner in New York on Saturday night.

Alderson, 71, stepped down as Mets GM back in June when he revealed his cancer had returned.

He had been the Mets GM since 2011 and built a team that went to the World Series in 2015 and playoffs in 2016.

SNY's Andy Martino reported in December that Alderson's prognosis was good and that he was meeting with teams during baseball's Winter Meetings about potentially joining a front office role.
