Just as he did with Pete Alonso on Sunday, former MLB MVP and current MLB analyst Alex Rodriguez returned to his Instagram Live to talk to Darryl Strawberry.

Strawberry explains how Keith Hernandez and Gary Carter impacted Mets
A young Strawberry was lucky enough to have two veterans join the Mets in back-to-back seasons, and he told Rodriguez the impact was felt immediately.
"Well, they really changed the culture of the team because they were veteran players," he said. "They had great major league experience and they were bringing a lot to the clubhouse. Carter really was going to work with the pitching staff that we had with [Ron] Darling, Sid Fernandez, Doc Gooden, those guys.
"What Keith brought to the table was really special because he brought a lot for the everyday players. He taught us what it was like to play in big games and big situations."
Strawberry also explained how watching and learning from Hernandez helped him get better against lefties on the mound.

Of course, Strawberry would leave the Mets in free agency and land crosstown in the Bronx with the Yankees -- with his telling Rodriguez George Steinbrenner was a major reason he did so. And in that span, he won three championships as a part of the team's late '90s-early 2000s dynasty.
So A-Rod posed the question: Would the 1986 Mets or 1998 Yankees, who won 114 games, win in a seven-game series? Here's what Strawberry believes.
"It would probably have to be -- it would be a tight game," he began. "But you think about the fact of having Doc Gooden on the mound in a Game 7. That's pretty impressive, but you know you have some pretty good pitchers like [Andy] Pettitte and other guys on the Yankees. ...I would have to give the edge to the Mets in those days because I think we had a little bit of a chip on our shoulder."
Strawberry wants Mets fans to get over his joining the Evil Empire
One of Rodriguez' first questions was about the difference between Mets and Yankees fans, and how he viewed it. Strawberry saw it as an opportunity to let Mets fans know that it was OK for him to join "the dark side."
"It's a big difference playing in Queens and playing in the Bronx," he said. "There's a real separation of fans because of not liking each other, and of course they don't really like the fact that I put on a Yankee uniform but they need to kinda get over that.
"The reality is I did, and I did play with the Yankees because of The Boss. He was great to me, great to my family and he was great to a lot of people."
