Adeiny Hechavarria was DFA'd by the Mets in a salary move in early August. That helped him land with the Atlanta Braves.
A move he's more than thankful for.
The utility infielder for the Braves said following the Braves' 8-1 win over the Giants on Saturday he's thanking a higher power
"I just want to thank god for the opportunity, removing me from the Mets and putting me on this team," Hechavarría said through a translator. "I felt at home instantly when I got here."
With the Mets in 60 games this season, he hit at a .204 average and is now up to a .271 average in 19 games with the Braves. That could certainly be adding to Hechavarría's delight.
Here's video of Hechavarría's comments via FOX Sports in Atlanta:
It's through a translator, but after the Braves won tonight, Adeiny Hechavarría made this comment 🤨
