Knicks were no match for Joel Embiid, Jimmy Butler

The Knicks couldn't handle Joel Embiid and company, losing 131-109 to the 76ers on Wednesday night in Philadelphia. >> Box score

Things to know about Wednesday's game

1) Embiid and Jimmy Butler led the Sixers with 24 and 20 points respectively. Embiid also recorded a double-double with 10 boards, three assists and one block over 25 minutes. Butler took more free throws than field goals in this one, hitting 8-of-10 from the charity stripe compared to 6-of-9 from the field. 

2) Tim Hardaway Jr. led the Knicks' offense with 27 points on 7-of-16 shooting with three rebounds and five assists as well as two steals on the night. Hardaway hasn't been the scorer he was at the start of the season, but this is a good sign from him. 

3) Kevin Knox had another great game, as he continues his hot streak. He scored 21 points on 8-for-17 shooting with six boards as well.

4) Ben Simmons had a triple-double with 13 points, 11 rebounds, and 10 assists as he facilitated as usual for Philly.

5) Overall, the Sixers shot 53 percent from the field, with the Knicks defense not much of a stopping force. New York, on the other hand, shot 43 percent from the field.

The Knicks return to The Garden for a matchup against Trae Young and the Hawks on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
