The Knicks have met with free agent Mario Hezonja, reports The Athletic.
Ian Begley of ESPN reported on Saturday that Hezonja is interested in the Knicks. Hezonja became a free agent after the Magic opted not to pick up his fourth-year option.
Knicks GM Scott Perry was with the Magic when his team drafted Hezonja in the 2015 draft.
The Knicks are seeking to offer short contracts to keep their cap space in check for 2019, reports Begley. Among other teams, Sacramento is also interested in signing Hezonja.
Hezonja, who has spent his entire three-year NBA career with the Magic, averaged a career-best 9.6 points per game in 2017-18. He also averaged 3.7 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 75 games.
