Kristaps Porzingis is in Madrid rehabbing his ACL, but he still found time to reach out to his newest teammate.

Knicks first-rounder Kevin Knox revealed that Porzingis called him on FaceTime to exchange pleasantries.

"(Thursday) night, Porzingis actually gave me a phone call," Knox said at his news conference. "He called me on FaceTime. It [was] pretty good, he's in Real Madrid right now. So, it was good to talk to him last night. I got some tips from him, asked me how I was doing and stuff like that. So, he's out there training right now, but it was good to talk to him."

Along with Frank Ntlilikina, Porzingis and Knox are the future of the Knicks. Their development, and chemistry, is paramount to the team's arc. Knox, for one, reckons it'll be a fruitful pairing.

"I think me and him will do really well together alongside some of the other guys," Knox said. "Porzingis is a big guy who can really stretch the floor, shoot the ball and go down low."

Before Knox was drafted, Knicks fans at the Barclay's Center were chanting for Michael Porter Jr. When Adam Silver announced the Knicks' selection, those fans shared their displeasure.

Thankfully for Knox, Porzingis has experience in dealing with draft night doubts and shared his wisdom.

"Actually, we did talk about it," Knox said. "He asked me how the fans reacted, and I told him I got the same amount of boos as you got. So it was fun. He just laughed and he said, 'It's all motivation and fuel to the fire.' He said, 'Just work. Sooner or later they'll be cheering for you.' "

As Porzingis can attest to, that's all it takes.
