The Knicks exercised their third-year option for point guard Frank Ntilikina, the team announced on Monday.
Ntilikina, 20, will make $4.9 million in the 2019-20 season after the move, which is a mere formality.
While new head coach David Fizdale has not revealed who his starting point guard will be this season, Ntilikina is in the mix and figures to have a good chance.
Last year, in his rookie season, the Knicks first-round pick averaged 5.9 points, 3.2 assists and 2.3 rebounds over 78 games.
Trey Burke, Emmanual Mudiay and Ron Baker are also in consideration for starting point guard.
Ntilikina, a French native, was selected with the eighth overall pick in the 2017 draft by Phil Jackson -- the last major move of his Knicks tenure.
