Philadelphia Eagles star tight end Zach Ertz will miss the team's Week 17 game against the Giants at MetLife Stadium, the team announced on Friday afternoon.

Ertz fractured his rib in the Eagles' Week 16 win over the Dallas Cowboys. In 15 games this season, he has a team-high 88 receptions for 916 yards and six touchdowns.

Dallas Goedert, the team's second leading receiver, will start at tight end in place of Ertz. He had a career-high nine receptions for 91 yards and a touchdown against the Cowboys in Week 16.

In addition to Ertz, the Eagles will be without WR Nelson Agholor (knee). OT Lane Johnson (ankle) and CB Jalen Mills (ankle) are both questionable for Sunday's matchup.

The Eagles can clinch the NFC East title with a win over the Giants or a loss by the Cowboys to the Washington Redskins. For the Eagles to miss the playoffs, they would have to lose to the Giants and have the Cowboys beat the Redskins.

Some Giants' players are embracing the opportunity to knock the Eagles out of the playoffs, and end the season with a win.
