Our weekly minor league report canvases the Yankees' farm system providing updates about the status of the teams in action and the organization's top prospects.

Notes: Top-30 prospect rankings (via MLBPipeline.com) are club based with overall MLB rank, if applicable, in parenthesis. Prospects currently in the major leagues will not be covered here. Team records and statistics are through games played June 29, 2018.

Rookie - Appalachian League - Pulaski Yankees

Record: 3-7, 4th place, 5.0 GB

This is our first reporting on Pulaski this season.

No. 5 - Luis Medina (RHP) has made two starts and thrown just 4 2/3 innings. Medina has had severe control issues in the early going, walking eight batters.

No. 21- Everson Pereira (OF) is 10-for-44 in nine games for Pulaski.

Rookie - NY-Penn League - Staten Island Pizza Rats

Record: 4-10, 4th place, 7.0 GB

This is our first reporting on Staten Island this season.

No. 10 - Matt Sauer (RHP) has tossed 15 innings so far for Staten Island to the tune of a 2.40 ERA while holding batters to a tiny .137 batting average.

No. 18 - Nolan Martinez (RHP) tossed six innings of scoreless ball in his last start, allowing four hits and two walks.

No. 23 - Canaan Smith (OF) has just six hits in 46 at-bats this season.

No. 28 - Juan De Paula (RHP) has been impressive in his two starts for the Pizza Rats allowing just one earned run in 9 2/3 innings.

Class A - South Atlantic League Southern Division - Charleston RiverDogs

1st-half Record: 33-35, 5th place, 6.5 GB
2nd-half Record: 5-2, T-1st place

Charleston is off to a much better start to the second half after a disappointing first half.

No. 14 - Deivi Garcia (RHP) has struck out 14 batters in his last 10 innings (two starts) and owns a 3.60 ERA in 15 innings for the RiverDogs.

No. 17 - Glenn Otto (RHP) remains on the 7-day disabled list. Otto had thrown 10 1/3 innings to the tune of a 3.48 ERA and 1.45 WHIP before being injured.

No. 20 - Dermis Garcia (3B) is hitting .310 with two homers and 4 RBIs over his last 10 games after a sluggish beginning to his season.

Making Noise - Dalton Lehnen (LHP) tossed six scoreless innings on Tuesday, striking out seven batters.

Advanced A - Florida State League North Division - Tampa Tarpons

1st-half Record: 35-35, 3rd place, 4.0 GB
2nd-half Record: 4-4, 4th place, 2.5 GB

Tampa, like in the first half, is hovering around the .500 mark early in the second half.

No. 1 (No. 37) - Estevan Florial (OF) remains on the disabled list until mid-August due to a right wrist injury that required surgery. Florial was hitting .246 with a .353 on-base percentage and a .343 slugging percentage in 156 plate appearances before the surgery.

No. 3 (No. 65) - Albert Abreu (RHP) was touched for four runs in six innings in his last start in which he allowed seven hits and walked three batters. Abreu sports a 4.28 ERA in 48 1/3, but has allowed batters to hit just .228 off him.

No. 6 - Freicer Perez (RHP) remains on the seven-day disabled list. Perez's ERA sits at 7.20 across 25 innings (six starts) this season.

No. 11 - Clarke Schmidt (RHP) is on a rehab assignment with the Gulf Coast League Yankees West club trying to come back from Tommy John surgery. Schmidt has thrown three innings in two appearances in which he's allowed two runs.

No. 24 - Nick Nelson (RHP) stuck out eight batters and allowed just three hits in a strong six-inning start on Monday. Nelson's ERA stands at 3.67 in 41 2/3 innings with Tampa.

No. 25 - Trevor Lane (LHP) continues to struggle having surrendered four runs in his last appearance (one inning). Lane's ERA is a bloated 5.75 in 36 innings this season.

No. 26 - Garrett Whitlock (RHP) cruised in his last start which lasted seven innings and included 11 strikeouts. The performance dropped his ERA with Tampa to 1.80 across 30 innings.

No. 29 - Isiah Gilliam (1B) has hit .318 with a home run and seven RBIs over his last 10 games. Gilliam is hitting .282 on the season despite strking out 85 times in 282 at-bats.

Making Noise - Former first round pick Kyle Holder (SS) is hitting .375 with two homers and 11 RBIs in his last 10 games. Holder has a career .648 OPS across 261 combined minor league games.

Double-A - Eastern League Eastern Division - Trenton Thunder

Record: 39-26, T-1st place, 0.0 GB

Trenton went 6-8 since the last report losing ground to New Hampshire in the standings.

No. 7 - Domingo Acevedo (RHP) is still getting stretched out working five innings in his last start in which he allowed just one run. In 33 innings, Acevedo owns a 2.73 ERA.

No. 9 - Dillon Tate (RHP) has endured a tough go as of late, coughing up seven earned runs in his last 11 innings (two starts). Tate's ERA has risen to 3.48 in 77 2/3 innings this season.

No. 13 - Trevor Stephan (RHP) was shelled on Monday, allowing six runs in just three innings of work. Stephen's ERA with Trenton ballooned to 4.50 after the start.

Making Noise - Abiatal Avelino (SS) continues to excel at Trenton with a .960 OPS with nine home runs and 26 RBIs.

Triple-A - International League North Division - Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders

Record: 39-39, 3rd place, 6.5 GB

The RailRiders went 8-5 since the last report, which has brought them back to .500 for the season, though they have failed to gain ground on first-place Lehigh Valley.

No. 2 (No. 40) - Justus Sheffield (LHP) is rolling over his last four starts in which he has lowered just five earned runs in 23 1/3 innings. Sheffield has struck out 24 batters in the stretch.

No. 4 (No. 67) - Chance Adams (RHP) worked five innings of one-run ball Thursday after a nine day layoff. Adams lowered his ERA to 4.97, which is a disappointment after a fine 2017 season.

No. 8 - Thairo Estrada (2B/SS) remains on the seven-day disabled list. In 33 at-bats with Scranton, Estrada was hitting just .152.

No. 15 - Cody Carroll (RHP) has allowed just one run in his last four relief appearances (3 1/3 innings). For the season, Carroll possesses a 2.94 ERA and 1.13 WHIP.

No. 16 - Billy McKinney (OF) is in a bit of a skid in his last 10 games, hitting just .237, though he has two homers and three RBIs in his last three games. McKinney sports a .872 OPS for the season.

No. 28 - Ben Heller (RHP) is on the 60-day disabled list after undergoing Tommy John surgery in April.

Making Noise - Tyler Wade (UT) is hitting .314 over his last 10 games, raising his average to .271. It's been a long climb for Wade who was hitting just .220 on May 23.
