The Jets are taking the next step towards finding their next general manager.

According to a report from NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Jets have officially submitted their requests for GM interviews. Rapoport highlighted two names in his report: Eagles' Vice President of Player Personnel Joe Douglas and Bears' Assistant Director of Player Personnel Champ Kelly.

Douglas has been linked to the Jets since Mike Maccagnan's firing last week, with SNY's Ralph Vacchiano reporting that he'd emerged as the leading candidate for the job. Douglas served as the Bears' Director of College scouting in 2015, while Adam Gase served as offensive coordinator for Chicago. Since leaving the Bears, he's been with the Eagles since 2016, and he played a key role in building the Eagles' 2017 Super Bowl team.

Kelly has also been mentioned among the possible GM candidates in recent days. Prior to joining the Bears, Kelly spent eight seasons in Denver, five of which as the Broncos' Assistant Director of Pro Personnel.
