UConn men's basketball star guard Jalen Adams signed with the New Orleans Pelicans after the NBA draft, the team announced.

Adams averaged 16.9 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists in 26 games as a senior, his final season cut short due to a sprained MCL.

As a junior, Adams averaged 18.1 points, 4.2 rebounds and 4.7 assists.

 

Adams joins a team that is rebuilding following Anthony Davis' trade to the Lakers.

New Orleans acquired Lonzo BallBrandon Ingram and Josh Hart in the trade with Los Angeles. The Pelicans also drafted Duke forward Zion Williamson first overall, Texas center Jaxson Hayes eighth and Virginia Tech wing Nickeil Alexander-Walker 17th.
