As St. John's prepared to play Creighton in the second round of the men's Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden, most other NCAA tournaments were being cancelled due to coronavirus. Despite what was going on elsewhere, St. John's and Creighton tipped off. But they didn't finish.
At halftime of a game that St. John's led, 38-35, the game and the remainder of the tournament were cancelled.
Before the cancellation, it was a strange scene at the Garden as the teams played in front of only team personnel and a limited amount of family members of the players.
With most conference tournaments now cancelled, the NCAA Tournament has now been cancelled as well.
