It took him a few games, but Mets 3B David Wright finally got his first couple hits for the St. Lucie Mets since returning to live games on Sunday.
Wright laced a couple singles on his way to a 2-for-3 day with a run scored as well. The first hit was a ball hit right back up the middle followed by a single to left.

It wasn't anything special, but getting the first hits out of the way was a relief for Wright, who said he felt more comfortable in the box.
"Finally got that first hit, first couple hits," Wright said after the game. "Better at-bats. Feel a little more I guess calm up there and less anxious. I guess the first week or so you really try to go out there and do a lot and maybe my swing was getting a little big. Timing was a little off, rhythm was a little off. But today maybe was the short turnaround."
"Certainly my best all-around game to date."
Wright's St. Lucie teammates wanted to have some fun with his first knock, motioning for the ball to be thrown in to keep...

Wright entered Sunday's game 0-for-14 after another 0-for-4 game on Saturday night.
The 35-year-old last appeared in a major-league game in May 2016 as he looks to return from various back, neck and shoulder injuries, including spinal stenosis.
