Former Mets GM Sandy Alderson, who stepped aside in June after a recurrence of cancer, could soon be working in the game again.

Alderson's prognosis is good, and he will be at the winter meetings in Las Vegas next week to meet with several clubs about joining a front office. His Mets contract expired on Oct. 31.

Alderson could also return to MLB, where he was head of executive Vice President of baseball operations from 1998-2005. He still remains chair of the MLB's Rules Committee, and is a member of the competition committee.
