The Knicks are projected to take Kentucky small forward Kevin Knox in the latest ESPN mock draft, which previously had them taking Alabama point guard Collin Sexton.

Knox recently worked out for the Knicks and impressed the team's brass.

The 6-8 Knox, only 18, is a scoring wing who is among the latest one-and-dones at Kentucky. He averaged 15.5 points, 5.4 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game en route to SEC co-Freshman of the Year honors.

"My development and my team's development led us to an SEC championship and a berth in the Sweet 16," Knox said when he declared for the Draft. "Not many can say that."

Kentucky coach John Calipari said teams who skip over Knox will regret it.

"I think people will look back and say, 'Why did people pass those first seven picks, six picks?' " Calipari said during this week's SEC meetings at the Hilton Sandestin. "And it was because he's young. He's the youngest player in the draft. Mentally he's not. Physically he's young, and it's going to take him time."

He added: "He's going to do great. He's going to do great."
