For Knicks' guard Allonzo Trier, putting a smile on a young fan's face by describing his love for the game is the essence of this season's giving.
Trier Facetimed Dennis to invite him to Knicks camp, the team announced in an Instagram post on Saturday. Dennis worked hard and recycled all year so the young fan could make it to Knicks camp, according to the post.
"So what made you like basketball?" Dennis asked Trier.
"I fell in love with it and gained a passion for it," Trier said. "And it took me to where I am today."
Dennis said he remembered seeing Trier at a Jr. Knicks camp in the summer, well before they Facetimed. Trier presented Dennis with a custom Knicks jersey and the young fan asked the guard to sign it for him.
Eyes locked with a look of disbelief, Dennis said, "Thank you!" as he watched his favorite NBA player sign the jersey with ease.
