The Patriots made their deal with star WR Antonio Brown official on Monday, and in turn, the Jets are getting one of their depth receivers.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Patriots have traded veteran WR Demaryius Thomas to the Jets in exchange for a 2021 sixth-round pick.

The Jets are pretty solid at receiver at the moment with Quincy Enunwa, Robby Anderson, and Jamison Crowder leading that group. But there is also room for more depth, especially in the form of Thomas who has a Super Bowl ring over his 10-year career thus far.

Thomas was a staple in the Broncos' receiving corps for eight-and-a-half seasons before being traded to the Texans after eight games last season. He totaled 9,055 yards and 60 touchdowns on 665 catches over 125 games in Denver.

Last season between the two teams, the 31-year-old had 59 catches for 677 yards and five touchdowns. He was looking to be a solid option for the Patriots this season, but he didn't get into the game against the Steelers on Sunday night.

This may not be prime Thomas, but between his playoff experience, reliable hands and playoff experience (10 games over his career), he can be an impact on and off the field right away for this Jets squad.
