Adam Gase says he just wants to coach the Jets. He's still using his newfound powers as interim GM to act on his vision for the team, though.
Gase fired scout Bill Dekraker on Tuesday, according to the Daily News' Manish Mehta, who added that the move was done in an effort to fulfill the coach's desire of streamlining the organization's scouting department.
Adam Gase's continues to make changes... even though he only wants to coach the team.

Gase has fired Jets scout Bill Dekraker, per sources.
Gase is telling people that he wants to streamline the scouting department, which is interesting since he only wants to coach the team
Dekraker was a member of the Jets' college scouting staff and was an area scout for the team before serving in that role.
This is another example of Gase filtering out those with strong connections to the previous regime. Dekraker and former GM Mike Maccagnan worked together with the Redskins in the 1990s and reunited with the Jets this decade.
Gase has parted ways with Maccagnan draft picks Darron Lee and Jordan Leggett, and there were rumblings last week following Maccagnan's firing that the new man in charge wasn't too high on running back and prize free agent signing Le'Veon Bell.
