The Eagles head to MetLife Stadium to fight for their playoff lives against the Giants, but they'll have to make a decision on tight end Zach Ertz this week before doing so
Ertz, the Eagles' top-playmaker this season, might be considered a game-time decision ahead of the Week 17 meeting.
Ertz fractured a rib in Philadelphia's win over the Cowboys in Week 16.
Eagles head coach Doug Pederson confirmed the injury on Monday.
"There is a rib that's been affected. I still am waiting on, with our doctors, a couple more tests for some other things," Pederson said. "It is [a good sign that he returned to play vs. the Cowboys]. It just shows his toughness and willingness to go back out there, but as you guys know, we take every injury seriously and make sure that we protect our players."
Per ESPN, Ertz is "hurt pretty bad."
Without Ertz a full go against the Cowboys, No. 2 tight end Dallas Goedert had a career game last week, with nine catches for 91 yards and a touchdown.
Ertz leads the Eagles in targets (135), catches (88), and receiving yards (916) by a wide margin this season.
While Ertz may be out, the Eagles will get the services of rusher Jordan Howard (neck) back on Sunday.
