Five takeaways from Sunday's game
1) The Yankees blew the game wide open in the third inning, plating six runs and knocking David Price out of the game early. The third started innocently enough, with an Aaron Judge walk sandwiched between a Gleyber Torres strikeout and a flyout from Didi Gregorius. But Gio Urshela powered a two-run homer to left-center and the Yankees were off and running. Urshela's homer was followed by back-to-back doubles from Brett Gardner and Cameron Maybin, giving the Yankees a 4-0 lead. Mike Ford singled in Maybin to make it 5-0, and then Kyle Higashioka got in on the act with an RBI double of his own. When Mike Tauchman's single made it 7-0, the Yankees had collected four straight RBI hits.
2) Judge wasted no time getting the Yankees on the board early, with a solo home run in the first inning off of Price. The homer was Judge's 12th of the season but his first since July 19, a span of 15 games.
3) J.A. Happ put up four scoreless innings to start his outing, but allowed back-to-back homers to Christian Vazquez and Michael Chavis in the fifth and a two-run single to Andrew Benintendi in the sixth, his final batter of the game. Happ went 5.2 innings, allowing four runs on seven hits, with a walk and two strikeouts.
4) Luis Cessa came on to relieve Happ, and walked Vazquez to bring the tying run to the plate. But Cessa got Chavis swinging to end the threat and the Yankees took a 7-4 lead to the bottom of the sixth. He also set the Red Sox down in order in both the seventh and eighth to form the bridge to Chad Green.
5) Green served as the opener in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader, but took the ball in the ninth on Sunday and earned his second save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning.

What's next
The Yankees travel to Baltimore for a three-game series with the Orioles at Camden Yards, beginning Monday at 7:05 p.m. Masahiro Tanaka (7-6, 4.78 ERA) gets the ball for the Yankees, who will face right-hander Gabriel Ynoa (1-6, 5.55 ERA) to start, though the Orioles have announced a planned bullpen game.
