The Nets have had a slow start to their highly anticipated 2019-20 season, going 1-3 so far this year.

Despite their record, the team is still building team chemistry and have started to see improvements.

"It's never easy because we're all competitors and we all want to win," guard Spencer Dinwiddie said. "I wouldn't say it's the end of the world or super hard either. I think we all had that type of mentality coming into it, like we all understood it's going to take time to work a new group in. KD's not coming back, but we're building a foundation for him to come back. We have a lot going on."

The team lost in overtime on opening night to the Minnesota Timberwolves 127-126, then got their first win of the season over the Knicks 113-109.

Since then, they have lost back-to-back games -- a 134-133 OT loss on the road to the Memphis Grizzlies and a 118-108 loss at home to the Indiana Pacers.

"I think the Knicks game gave us a really good sense of how good and how loud Brooklyn basketball can be," center Jarrett Allen said. "I'm not really worried about the crowd not bringing it."

The Nets will have another big game at home on Friday night against the Houston Rockets and star duo James Harden and Russell Westbrook. It'll be a major test for the Nets as they must focus on defense if they hope to get the win, especially after the Rockets beat the Washington Wizards 159-158 in regulation on Wednesday night.
