The Mets reliniquished their lead in the top of the seventh, but they took it right back that inning thanks to Carlos Gomez

The veteran outfielder ripped a three-run homer to left-center field, and celebrated around the base paths in typical Gomez fashion...

In the bottom of the sixth, the Mets regained their lead thanks to some situational hitting.

First, it was Pete Alonso who hit a deep fly ball to left-center field that brought in a run to break a tie. Then another run came across on Wilson Ramos' grounder.

Another sacrifice fly came earlier in the bottom of the fifth from Juan Lagares...

The Mets turned two in the first inning. Then, they did it again in the second.

Steven Matz pitched out of a two-on, one-out jam with a 1-4-3 double play in the first, and in the second he got Yan Gomes to ground into a 5-4-3 double play with a runner on third to end another Nationals scoring threat.
