ESPN's Jeff Passan is reporting Stroman's deal with the Cubs is for three years and $71 million.
The deal includes an opt out after the second season, per Passan, with the breakdown of the deal seeing Stroman taking $25 million in 2022, $25 million in 2023 and $21 million in 2024.
Stroman could make $2 million more for pitching 160 innings in 2022 and 2023.

Stroman didn't let anyone else break the news - he informed his Twitter followers on Wednesday night that he is headed to the Chicago Cubs.
Stroman was traded to the Mets right before the 2019 trade deadline, and after opting out of the 2020 season, he proved his worth in 2021.
Stroman pitched to a 3.02 ERA and struck out 7.9 batters per nine innings while posting a 1.145 WHIP, all of which were the lowest marks of his career.
"Chicago has always been one of my favorite cities," Stroman tweeted. "Culture and passion everywhere. Beyond excited to pitch in front one of the best fan bases in all of sports. Thank you to everyone in the city for the warm welcome. I can feel it."
"Wrigley Field is the only big league stadium I haven’t pitched at in my career. Crazy. Can’t wait to call it home!" he added in another tweet.

The Chicago Cubs are looking to bring in the right-hander, according to Matt Spiegel of The Parkins & Spiegel Show and corroborated by MLB Network's Jon Heyman and The Athletic's Ken Rosenthal.
Spiegel says the talks between Stroman and the Cubs are "hot and heavy" with Heyman adding the discussions are "serious."
With the Mets signing Max Scherzerto a three-year, $130 million deal this week there may not be room for Stroman in the team's rotation although the 30-year-old has tweeted his desire to come back.
Stroman, who is not attached to a qualifying offer, should be one of the most sought-after starting pitchers on the market.
Syndergaard, who is attached to the qualifying offer, has until Nov. 17 to accept or reject.
If he accepts, he returns to the Mets for the 2022 season at a salary of $18.4 million. If he rejects, he becomes a free agent.

The San Diego Padres, a team many believed would make a run at the postseason this year only to fall off late in the season, will be looking for upgrades at pitcher. And according to The San Diego Union-Tribune's Kevin Acee, Stroman is on the list.
"According to people familiar with preliminary deliberations, the Padres are expected to pursue another veteran starter, with free agent Marcus Stroman having been among the names mentioned," Acee reported.

As a free agent, one would expect Stroman to use his social media platforms to generate some buzz and he's already doing so.
In a tweet from a fan talking about a potential reunion with the Toronto Blue Jays, Stroman said he'd be down to head back north.
"I'm definitely open to a reunion," he replied.
Stroman was the 22nd overall pick by Toronto back in 2012, where he spent his first five and a half seasons before his trade to the Mets during the 2019 campaign. He owned a 3.76 ERA in 135 games (129 starts) with the Jays.
Oct. 1, 2:22 p.m.
Stroman told NBC Sports' Gordon Wittenmyer that "I want to be somewhere that wants me." And that somewhere could be the Chicago Cubs.
"The Cubs are always going to be a huge destination target," Stroman said. "Just because of the history of the franchise, how amazing the franchise is. And the city's one of my favorite cities. So I don't think he Cubs will ever have trouble getting guys or having guys that want to go there."
