This past offseason, the Kirk Cousins sweepstakes had a heavy contender in the Jets. Desperately needing a consistent quarterback, Gang Green was all in on the 30-year-old signal caller.

And after watching Part One of a documentary on the free-agency process that Cousins went through, we know just how much the Jets laid out on the table.

During one scene, Cousins gets off the phone with his agent, Mike McCarthy, and tells his wife, Julie, that the Jets offered him three years, $90 million, all of which was fully guaranteed. This offer came within the first four hours of the "legal tampering" period on March 12.

Having that guaranteed money is exactly what he was searching for during the process.

"We want the money to be guaranteed," he said. "My preference would be to get a fully guaranteed contract or do one-year deals."

And though the Jets blew him and his wife away with their offer, it didn't seem that Cousins had his heart set on MetLife Stadium being his new home. He wanted the other teams in contention -- the Vikings, Cardinals, and Broncos among the top candidates -- to raise their prices.

When all was said and done, Cousins didn't get the $30 million the Jets were willing to shell out per year. Rather, he signed a three-year, $84 million fully-guaranteed deal with the Vikings, which comes out to $28 million per year. It is still the largest fully-guaranteed contract in NFL history.

In turn, the Jets decided to go to the draft and select Sam Darnold No. 3 overall to be their Quarterback of the Future.
