Former Giants LB Spencer Paysinger has Super Bowl ring stolen

Spencer Paysinger saw the peak of his NFL career very early on. In 2011 he went from undrafted rookie free agent signee to Super Bowl XLVI champion with the Giants.

But that memory is now tainted. 

Paysinger, who spent 2011-2014 with the Giants, before heading to the Dolphins and Panthers prior to his 2017 retirement, posted on Instagram on Saturday with some bad news. 

The ex-Giant said his house was burglarized in March and among the items taken was his Super Bowl ring. 

In Paysinger's post, he says other items and electronics were taken, but said he left the ring out the open because prior to the break in, he had brought it to a "career day" at an elementary school.

The social media post includes video of the break in, but also a plea from Paysinger, in which he asks for his ring back with no consequences to those who took it, if returned.

On March 17th 2019, my home was burglarized. With the 17th being one of the first genuinely hot days of the year, I took my family out for the day not realizing I left a window cracked from airing out mold I'd been drying out from a few weeks of rain. We came home and realized the window screen was off to which I immediately ran into the house, scared, hoping to catch them in the act (I know). The two young men ended up stealing computers, purses, electronics and unfortunately my Super Bowl XLVI ring. I took it out recently for an elementary school Career Day and was lazy on returning to it's secure location. The real kicker is my yearly insurance payment lapsed the month before due to getting new credit cards and not updating the autopay. I've debated posting this since the night it happened but honestly, I'm tired of waking up with it being the first thing on my mind while also the reason keeping me up at night. My Super Bowl ring should serve as a cherished family heirloom not an unfortunate event. If you're reading this or if anyone knows the two young men in the video, please be assured there are no consequences tied to this post. This isn't bait, there are no cops involved and nothing will happen to you by giving back my ring; keep the other shit. All I want is peace of mind and to understand your circumstance in hopes that it will spell the next family from our experience.
