The Yankees will reportedly not in serious trade talks with the Marlins for catcher J.T. Realmuto, according to MLB Network's Jon Morosi.
Yankees GM Brian Cashman said last week that a report that indicated the Yankees were considering trading Gary Sanchez and replacing him with Realmuto "completely false" and reaffirmed his assertion that Sanchez, despite his struggles at the plate in 2018, was the team's starting catcher.
"We definitely look forward to him coming back to what we saw a little bit in the postseason and what we saw in the previous years," Cashman said last week.
Several teams, including the Mets, have showed interest in the All-Star Realmuto, who hit .277 with 21 home runs and 74 RBIs last season.
