Mets pitcher Marcus Stroman announced on Twitter that he'll be wearing No. 0 for the 2020 season.

On Oct. 11, Stroman tweeted that he will no longer wear No. 7 in 2020, to pay homage to longtime Mets favorite, Jose Reyes.

Stroman had worn No. 6 during his time with the Blue Jays, but when the Mets traded for him in July, he was assigned No. 7 since Jeff McNeil was already wearing the No. 6 jersey. He also made it clear that No. 6 was McNeil's to keep.

Reyes and Stroman were teammates in Toronto for parts of three seasons from 2013-2015.

Stroman will become just the fourth Met in team history to wear No. 0, joining Terry McDaniel (1991), Rey Ordonez (1996-1997), and Omar Quintanilla (2014). Tony Clark wore No. 00 in 2003.
