Five takeaways from Tuesday's game
1) Mike Tauchman had a big night for the Yankees at the plate and in the field. The lefty started the scoring for the Bombers with a solo shot in the top of the third inning. His 10th homer of the season game the Yankees a 1-0 lead. He finished the night 2-4 with two RBI. Later in the game, Tauchman made an unbelievable catch to rob Pedro Severino of a home run.
2) Gleyber Torres seems to still be feeling some lingering effects from Sunday's injury scare. After serving as the DH on Monday, Torres struck out in his only at-bat on Tuesday. He was then pulled from the game after the inning ended. Aaron Boone referred to Sunday's injury as a 'core issue,' and this latest injury is being called 'core pain.'
3) The Yankees turned the ball over to Jonathan Holder to serve as the opener. Holder had mixed results, allowing two earned runs on three hits in 2.2 innings. After Holder, Boone brought Stephen Tarpley out of the pen, and he also allowed two earned runs on six hits over 2.0 innings. Nestor Cortes Jr. did give the Yankees two clean innings, allowing just one hit.
4) Austin Romine had another nice night for the Yankees, filling in for the injured Gary Sanchez behind the plate. Romine went 3-5 and drove in three runs on the night, including a solo home run in the sixth inning.
5) The Yankees put their power on full display on Tuesday, smashing six home runs overall, three off of Orioles starter Asher Wojciechowski. Tauchman, Romine, Didi Gregorius, DJ LeMahieu, Brett Gardner, and Cameron Maybin all went yard. The Yankees have hit 47 home runs against the Orioles this season, just one shy of the all-time Major League record for homers against one club (1956 Yankees vs. Kansas City A's).

What's next
The Yankees and Orioles go head-to-head again on Wednesday. James Paxton (6-6, 4.61 ERA) is scheduled to pitch against Baltimore lefty John Means (8-6, 3.12 ERA).
