Five takeaways from Saturday's game

1) CC Sabathia threw 78 pitches in just four innings of work, allowing two earned runs on five hits and striking out seven Dodgers' batters. The lefty failed to make it past the fifth inning for the fourth-straight game. Last time he made it through five innings was on July 16 against the Rays when he threw 6.0 innings. 

2)  Aaron Judge hit a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to cut the Dodgers lead, bringing his season total to 15. This makes back-to-back games with a homer for Judge, and perhaps the start of him getting in playoff form. However, the RF did strike out three times, going 1-for-4 from the plate.

3) Chad Green kept the Yankees in the game, striking out four and allowing no runs while throwing 34 pitches over two innings of work. 

4) The Yankees made it extremely interesting in the top of the ninth inning -- but Gary Sanchez struck out with the bases loaded to end the game. Kenley Jansen got save No. 27 on the season after striking out the side.

5) Besides allowing a solo home run to Aaron Judge, Tony Gonsolin had a strong outing for the Dodgers, as the righty struck out two and allowed just two hits over 5.0 innings of work.
