Who is starting for the Yankees?
LHP James Paxton (10-6, 4.43 ERA), who has been solid of late. His last start came against the Dodgers, where he allowed two runs on five hits while striking out 11 over 6.2 innings.
The Yankees have won the last five games Paxton has pitched.
Who is starting for the Mariners?
LHP Justus Sheffield (6.43 ERA), who is making his third start of the season for Seattle. His last came on Aug. 23 where he allowed three runs on seven hits over four innings.
Sheffield was once the Yankees' top pitching prospect until he was traded to the Mariners in exchange for Paxton. So this matchup will be interesting to watch to see if Sheffield will come out firing against his former team.
Upcoming schedule
The Yankees return to the Bronx to host the A's, where they'll look to exact revenge after getting swept out in Oakland. It will be CC Sabathia on the bump for the home team.
