Yankees pitching prospect Deivi Garcia is climbing the minor league ranks and the minor league rankings.

A day after the franchise announced his promotion to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Garcia landed on Baseball Prospectus' midseason top 50 prospect list, coming in at No. 25.

The 20-year-old Garcia, who started the MLB Futures Game on Sunday and recorded a strikeout, is 4-5 with a 3.01 ERA in 14 minor-league starts this year with 114 strikeouts in 68 2/3 innings with High-A Tampa and Double-A Trenton.

Baseball Prospectus touted Garcia's repertoire, which features "a plus fastball, a plus-plus curveball, a new slider that's trending towards plus itself, and a usable changeup." However, it also lists his 5-foot-9, 163-pound frame as a cause for concern.

"That's tiny for a starting pitcher," Baseball Prospectus wrote. "While we don't have any specific durability concerns here, we're just not sure about his ability to handle the workload to stuff him higher. Sometimes-wavering command could push him further towards a bullpen outcome, although we'd expect that to be higher end too."

Despite that, Garcia has shown his dominant potential on the mound, as he had a two-start span in which he struck out 24 batters and allowed just one hit in 11 scoreless innings.

On June 18, he struck out 15 batters and gave up one hit in six innings. He followed that on June 24 by recording nine strikeouts in five no-hit innings in what would be a combined no-hitter.

A native of the Dominican Republic, he debuted in the Yankees' farm system at 17 years old in 2016. In his career, he is 16-16 with a 2.87 ERA with 365 strikeouts in 251 innings.
