The Yankees continued their scouting of free-agent LHP Dallas Keuchel by attending his rain-shortened simulated game on Sunday, according to Newsday's Erik Boland.

Keuchel, the top free-agent starting pitcher, has been throwing simulated games around every five days in Newport Beach, California, and the Yankees sent one of their top evaluators, according to Boland.

The Yankees could wait until after next week's MLB draft to more heavily pursue Keuchel as to not forfeit a draft pick or international bonus pool money after he rejected the Astros' $17.9 million qualifying offer last offseason.

However, the Yankees aren't the only team who could take that route. The Rays are reportedly among the other teams also interested in Keuchel.

The Yankees have been dealing with several injuries to their rotation. Luis Severino is out until at least the All-Star break, while James Paxton and CC Sabathia are also on the injured list.

The 31-year-old Keuchel, who has said he prefers to play in a big market, has reportedly turned down "numerous" offers, seeking to find a contract that represents his value.

Last year, Keuchel went 12-11 with a 3.74 ERA in 34 starts, throwing 153 strikeouts in 204 2/3 innings.
