A hurting Yankees starting rotation could receive a shot in the arm as soon as next week.

CC Sabathia could join the rotation for the Yankees' next homestand, which starts on Friday, April 12 against the White Sox, manager Aaron Boone said on Wednesday.

Sabathia tossed four scoreless innings during an extended Spring Training contest Monday.

"I felt good, no problems," he told the Associated Press. "The pitches were working. So [I'm] just trying to build up."

Next up in Sabathia's rehab is a start with High-A Tampa on Sunday. The lefty is slotted to pitch five innings. If all goes well, Sabathia anticipates he will head north and make his next start in the big leagues.

"I should be good after Sunday," he said. "It's just up to them after that."

Sabathia had offseason knee surgery and also experienced a heart scare in December, causing him to begin 2019 on the 10-day injured list
