Aaron Judge and Gerrit Cole each earned another piece of hardware for their mantles on Tuesday night, as they were each named to the 2021 All-MLB First Team.

Judge joined Juan Soto and NL MVP Bryce Harper as the three First Team outfielders, while Cole was one of five First Team starting pitchers, along with 2021 Cy Young winners Robbie Ray and Corbin Burnes, as well as Max Scherzer and Walker Buehler.

For Judge, this is his first All-MLB honor, which began in 2019. Cole has now been named All-MLB in each of the last three seasons, earning First Team honors in 2019 and 2021 and Second Team in 2020.

The All-MLB teams are voted on by fans and an expert panel, with each group accounting for 50% of the final tally.

Judge had a great all-around season for the Yankees, earning his third-career All-Star nod and finishing fourth in MVP voting. Proving he could stay healthy, Judge played in 138 games, slashing .287/.373/.544 with 39 homers and 98 RBI.

Cole’s second season in pinstripes got off to an outstanding start, as he maintained a sub-2.00 ERA into the month of June. But a nagging hamstring injury at the end of the season clearly affected him, as he allowed 15 earned runs over 17.2 innings his final three regular-season starts. Then, in the winner-take-all AL Wild Card Game, Cole went just 2.0 innings, allowing three earned in a 6-2 Red Sox win.
