While the Yankees were officially eliminated from playoff contention over the weekend, outfielder Aaron Judge is looking to end the regular season on a high note.
Judge was awarded American League Player of the Week honors (Sept. 18-24) for the second time this season and the ninth time in his career.
The All-Star outfielder appeared in five games and led the AL in batting average (.529), on-base percentage (.619), slugging percentage (1.235), OPS (1.854), and extra-base hits (21).
Judge also recorded three homers during the week, all of which came in a 7-1 win over Arizona. He finished 4-for-4 with six RBI and became the first player in franchise history to put together multiple three-homer games in a season.
After picking up another double and RBI in Monday's series finale over over the Diamondbacks, he's now hitting a scorching .375 with a .483 OBP and eight RBI over his last seven games.
With his strong finish to the season, Judge has propelled himself up to fourth in the AL with 35 homers. He's also hitting .266 with 15 doubles, 71 RBI, a .402 OBP, and a 1.007 OPS through 102 games.
